When a production needs the camera in the air, Hammarstrom Aerial drops in as a self-contained aerial unit. We carry the same cameras your camera department already shoots on, match the aerial plates to your ground footage, and deliver on the schedule the first AD hands us.
Our heavy-lift Freefly Alta X on a Movi Pro gimbal lifts the Alexa Mini LF, Alexa Mini, RED Monstro, Gemini, Helium and Komodo — with almost any prime or lightweight zoom on the front. For long-endurance passes and scouting we fly the Sony A7SIII, and for full-frame 8K aerials the DJI Inspire 3 with a dual-operator setup.
Built for the camera department
We work as an extension of the DP and the camera team, not a separate vendor. Send us the boards, the lens and the move, and we translate it to the air — matching eyeline, speed, altitude and timing to the shot you already see in your head.
On the day, that means a licensed pilot and a dedicated aerial DP/operator, RTK-precise repeatable flight paths for VFX plates and multi-pass sequences, and pro monitoring so the director and DP see exactly what the drone sees.
Establishers, action and VFX plates
From sweeping establishing shots and reveals to fast action sequences and clean plates for compositing, the heavy-lift platform gives you cinema-grade motion control in the sky. RTK positioning and Waypoint Pro let us fly the identical path take after take — essential for effects work and multi-element shots.
